A gathering place for family and friends
...old and new

As a young whippersnapper growing up in Texas, Jim was drawn to the cowboy life which developed into a life-long passion for collecting vintage cowboy gear.  But his real dream was to own a ranch and create his own piece of cowboy lore.  That dream became a reality in 2003 when he purchased a 140 acre
ranch in historic Fayette County.  On the day he acquired the property a penny was found on the ground
and the Lucky Penny Ranch was born.

It was a few years later upon meeting a descendent of the previous owner that he learned the ranch was owned by a couple with a special connection to its new name.

It turns out that they were the Lukenmires. He was known around town as "Lucky" and his red-headed wife as "Penny".  Oh my!

Ten years later and the Lucky Penny Ranch is now a full time Cow/calf operation with an average 50 head of Brangus cattle including a couple of gentle bulls known as Chester and Pete. Not to mention, a premier Bed & Breakfast hosting guests from around the country during Round Top Antique Festivals and throughout the year.
More importantly, it has become a beloved gathering place
for family and friends, old and new
- a true Rehoboth.
